Knowing your skin type is the first step to good skin.
One quick and easy way to to find out is to do a simple test in the morning right after you wake up: get a clean facial tissue to dab and gently wipe your face. Examine the tissue and compare with common, possible results below.
Normal skin – will show no traces of oil; skin will feel vibrant, elastic, and supple. Lucky you!
Oily skin – will have spots of oil, especially around your cheeks, nose, and forehead.
Dry skin – will be clean; skin will appear flaky, and will feel tight, and dry. Prone to premature ageing, wrinkles, and fine pores.
Combination skin – with some traces of oil, particularly around your nose and forehead, but the areas that touched your cheeks will be clean. This is a mix of dry and oily skin, may require different types of care with respect to different facial areas.
Sensitive skin – this test will be ineffective to determine this but you skin will feel extremely tender, and becomes inflamed and irritated easily. You skin would develop reddish and scaly areas and is prone to breaking into spots.
We hope this helps you as you get to know your skin better.
